The upper Murray river is a easy class 2 river. With medium volume melt water flowing from the Monkman Range. The Kinuseo falls are a spectacular way to start the trip. Although the trail from the top of the falls to the river below is not for the feint of heart, and unless you are part goat it can be a little daunting. The river itself is easy to maneuver with only a couple obvious hazards.

It is possible to put a canoe in at the last bridge before the falls, although I recommend at least driving up to see them before you put in. There are quite a few river boats heading up the river to see the falls but the ones we met were very courteous and aware of canoeist.

There are many places to camp on the river, either on the sand banks, or up in the trees. A camp ground is very conveniently located 1 km from the take-out on Hwy 29 (Lions Flatbed Creek Camp Site, $15 +-).

Directions:

From Tumbler Ridge, Highway 29 south. On the right hand side is a large intersection with signs pointing towards the Kinuseo Falls, Monkman Provincial Park, and the Quintette Mine. Follow this road until you reach the falls (approx 45km). The road is gravel but well maintained. The 2nd bridge over the Murray is the last one.
