Located on Flores Island near Tofino, BC. This hike provides a relatively easy but spectacular experience of the Ahousaht Wild Side Trail. It begins in the village of Ahousaht, where you can go to a diner located up the road from the dock and receive a map of the trail. The locals are very kind and have no problem directing you. Once on the trail you will follow a bunch of wood platforms through forest until you reach the first beach. This hike consist of many different beaches that are only separated by a quick walk through some forests. Along the way you may find that the trail ends at one of the beaches but it can be crossed during low tide or you could always take your boots off like we did and cross the water. As you continue you will come across an emergency cabin. Inside you will find a hikers log. A little ways further you will finally end up at Cow Bay. Many of these beaches are perfect for setting up camp but most people prefer to stay at Cow Bay. The only water source we found was just before Cow Bay under a bridge (you can't miss it). The water seemed cleaned but we still filtered and treated it. According to other sources you can continue the hike from Cow Bay and travel up a mountain but we never made it that far.
Directions:
-From Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay take the ferry to Nanaimo
-From Nanaimo travel to Tofino
-Once in Tofino you need to take a water taxi called the Ahousaht Pride(cost us 20$ a person each way for a total of 40$ a person)

Upsidegood scenery, beautiful beach. water source very close to the main beach, cow beach. i think you pass the river and then about 5 minutes later was the beach.
Downsidenot too much hiking through the forest, a lot on the beach.
